Bobby Gene Leonard, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born October 2, 1944 in Owensboro to the late Benjamin Franklin Leonard and Lula Jane Williams. Bobby retired from Commonwealth Aluminum and served in the Army National Guard.
He is survived by his children, Stephen Leonard (Lisa) of Utica, Danielle Ellis (Chris) of Stanley and Heidi McCain (Sam) of St. Joseph; ten grandchildren, Garrett Leonard, Zack Haynes, Hunter McCarty, Skylar Leonard, Mollie Smith, Harlie Roark, Dalton McCarty, Colbe Ellis, Walker Ellis, and Josie Ellis; great-grandchildren, Kodi Roark, Conley Leonard, Grayson and Graham Smith, Carslynn, Luna, and Nellie Haynes; siblings, Marlene Aull (Ray), Darlene Hoagland (Dan), and James David Leonard (Elvera); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
