Gary W. Barker, 72, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born August 7, 1953 in Daviess County to the late Levi and Bernice Barker. He retired from Swedish Match and was an Army veteran. He enjoyed watching and attending Nashville Predators games, riding motorcycles, tinkering on projects, fishing and spoiling his many pets.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vicki Stephens Barker; a sister, Benita McAlexander; two brothers, Eddie Barker of Richland, Georgia and Larry (Pat) Barker of Greenwood, Indiana; sister-in-law, Angie (David) Weaver; brother-in-law, Daryl Stephens; and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, no formal service or visitation will be held. Ennichment will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with the care of his arrangements.
