It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Trena Joy Doss Goetz, 64, on November 13, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Scleroderma. She was born in Owensboro on August 25, 1961, to Bobby D. and Betty Baum Doss. Trena graduated from Apollo High in 1979. She always enjoyed the simple things of life, country living, gardening, crafts, holidays with family, cooking for family gatherings, playing games on her iPad, and joining her friends for a few games of bingo and Yahtzee at One Park Place where she was currently residing.
In her younger years, she loved horseback riding and caring for animals. She shared many good memories of her and her dad riding horses together. Let’s not forget her love for Rolling Pin long johns and sweet rolls that she could never get enough of!
She was welcomed at the gates of heaven by her father, Bobby D. Doss; grandmother, Virgie L Hines; and her fur baby, Tiggy.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard; daughter, Jodi Ferrell of Springhill, FL; mother, Betty Baum Doss; sisters, Sherry Millay and Darla (Steve) Horn; uncle, Dennis (Vivian) Hines, and their son, Carson, of Peachtree City, GA; and nieces and nephews, Blake (Bre) Mackey, Stefan (Bre) Millay; Briana Driggers, Colton Driggers, Lance Driggers, Hunter Mackey, Layla Driggers, Braylen Brown, Cooper Millay, Finley Howard, Brylee Bruner, and Ansley Hardin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
In honor of her compassion for horses, her family is requesting expressions of sympathy be made to Steele Magnolia Sanctuary at 3441 Kinneys Road in Cedar Hill, TN 37032.
