It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Bruce Hidenrite, age 78, on November 11, 2025 — a day of deep meaning as Veterans Day. Bruce was a proud veteran who served his country with honor, courage, and unwavering dedication. He was born January 23, 1947 in Owensboro to the late Parvin and Katie Hidenrite. Bruce was the co-owner and operator of Hidenrite Tow Truck Company with his brother, Ed. He loved NASCAR.

Richard was a caring and loving father who adored his daughter, Kaitlyn, and his late son, Todd. He cherished his granddaughters Kinleigh, Everleigh, and Analeigh, as well as Todd’s daughters, Kelsey and Lindsay, and his son, Dillion Moss and his children. His grandchildren were the brightest part of his world. He spoke of them with endless pride and affection. He is also survived by his brother, Mark Hidenrite, and his sister, Dawyna, who continue to honor his memory and carry forward the love he shared with them.

Richard is reunited in peace with his parents; and brothers, Edward (Ed) Hidenrite and Gary Hidenrite, who preceded him in death.

Richard will be remembered as a steady, hardworking, and loyal man — someone who always showed up for his family, lived with quiet strength, and offered kindness wherever he could. His resilience, humor, and devotion to the people he loved will remain in our hearts forever.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
