Lew W. Niles, age 87 of Harned, KY passed away December 16, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Westview, KY on August 12, 1938, son of the late Tom and Lena Williams Niles. Lew retired from Commonwealth Aluminum and was a member of Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was an avid UK Wildcat fan and enjoyed watching all sports that included a ball. He looked forward to games of ROOK with his friends. Lew had a beautiful voice and for many years sang with a Gospel group. After retirement, he spent many hours with his buddies solving the world problems, playing checkers and watching the day pass at Frank’s in Harned. Once he had all the problems solved, you could find him happily mowing his yard.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Larry Williams and his son-in-law Dana Dowell.
Lew is survived by his wife Patricia Hobbs Niles.
3 children: Annette Baker, Keith Niles and Lynn Dowell
6 grandchildren: Brandon Baker, Cathy Baker (Tom Parisi), Kelsey Billings (Reagan), Tasha Berry, Brandon Niles and Lindsey Druen (Luke)
5 great grandchildren: Barrett, Brenley, Aaliyah, Lincoln, Levi and Omie due in March of 2026.

Funeral services will be held at Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 1 PM with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, 9:30 AM – 1 PM under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home.
