Edward Ray Tucker

Edward Ray Tucker, age 91 of Hardinsburg, KY, passed away January 24, 2026, at Robley Rex VA Medical Center. He was born on February 26, 1934, in SeRee, KY, the youngest son of the late Carey Estell and Ninnie Armes Tucker. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean conflict. He was a mechanic and owned Tucker’s Garage until his retirement in 2002. Ray was a faithful member of Cloverport Baptist Church and many civic organizations including the Masonic Lodge, The Blue Lodge 67 of Hardinsburg, Eastern Star Lodge 440, Red Lodge Chapter 20, Shriner Temple and Scottish Rite Valley of Louisville, Commander Council of Owensboro and a Kentucky Colonel.

He was a talented craftsman, who received great pleasure in helping others. He enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center, eating lunch and playing cards with his friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Bessie Dawson Tucker, daughter-in-law Gail Dawson, son-in-law Danny Knowles, brother Carey Stephen Tucker, sisters Nellie Frances Duncan and Ina Marie Bratcher and nephew Larry Carman.

Ray is survived by his stepson Glenn Dawson of Hardinsburg, KY and stepdaughter Linda Knowles of Englewood, FL.

4 grandchildren: Jeff Dawson, Star Richardson, Tancy Morris and Dallas Dawson.

Several great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

2 nephews Eddie Carman and Kenneth Davis.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11 AM with burial in the Cloverport Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 3:30 – 7 PM and Friday, 8:30 – 11 AM. All times are central.

A Masonic Service will be held on Thursday at 6:30 PM.
