Sandra Ladale Troxle Gedling, age 80 of Hardinsburg, KY, passed away January 27, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Louisville, KY on January 4, 1946, daughter of the late Clarnece Albert Troxle, Sr. and Verna Mae Meredith Smith.
Sandra loved the outdoors – birdwatching, hunting fossils and walking in the creek near her home. She was the owner of Sandy’s Plants, a greenhouse she operated for over 30 years. She was a talented seamstress and over the years, she made many wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and prom dresses. She was an avid reader and listened to music all the time. Sandra enjoyed shopping and collecting.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Danny Gedling, son Michael David Gedling, granddaughter Hannah Gedling, and sisters Gloria Scherer and Sylvia Armes.
Sandra is survived by 3 children: Tommy Gedling (Kathy), Debbie Henderson (Perry) and Michelle Jones of Hardinsburg, KY.
8 grandchildren: Brittany Lundquist, Megan Gedling, T J Gedling, Kyle Henderson, Brandon Henderson, Dennis Henderson, Zack Simmons and Audrey Jones.
8 great grandchildren: Rye, Justin, Emma, Skylar, Sophia, Gavin, Landyn and Lacey
2 brothers: Clarence Troxle, Jr. (Davalyn) of Hardinsburg, KY and Pete Troxle (Marilyn) of Florida
3 sisters: Judy Hendrix (Gary) of Louisville, KY; Beverly Smith (JK) of Island, KY and Cheryl Whitworth (Lowell) of Hardinsburg, KY
Many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9 – 11 AM with burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Cloverport, KY.
