Joel Wayne Noffsinger, 87, of Owensboro, passed away on January 28, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Muhlenberg County on March 19, 1938, and was the beloved son of the late Robert and Virginia Noffsinger.
Joel retired from Gauley-Robertson after many years of dedicated service in the coal mining industry. In his free time, he enjoyed trips to the casino and cheering on his beloved Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. When his health allowed, Joel could often be found casting a fishing line and enjoying the peace of the water. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army. Above all, Joel loved his family and cherished the moments spent with them.
In addition to his parents, Joel was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Vincent.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 44 years, Norma Jean Noffsinger; daughter, Patricia Howell of Americus, GA; stepsons, Beryle Williams, Bruce Williams, and Bryan Williams; nephew, Denny Vincent; niece, Debbie Daugherty; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family and friends.
