Dr. Robert B. Chambliss, 88 formerly of Hardinsburg, KY died on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Signature Healthcare Center in Elizabethtown, KY. He was born in Hardinsburg on December 19, 1937 to the late Paul Bryan Chambliss and Elmina Adele Lyons. He was a lifelong member of Hardinsburg Baptist Church where he was a deacon and also was a dedicated member of Gideons International. Dr. Chambliss loved his community which was evident in the fact that he practiced medicine here in Breckinridge County for over 50 years. His belief was always, Faith first, Family second and the people of Breckinridge County third. He was an author having published a book about his life from childhood through retirement. He was a cattleman, raising Hereford cattle. For anyone who had the pleasure of spending time with him, you would definitely know he was an avid University of Kentucky fan. Dr. Chambliss was known for wearing his Kentucky blue and supporting the CATS. He even got to enjoy a game the evening before his passing.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry, Jack and Paul Chambliss as well as his sisters, Lillian Monarch, Betty Jaccarino, Mary Lou Jarrett, Linda Dunn, Mabel Beard and infants Margaret and Ruth.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janet Chambliss of Elizabethtown, KY

Jim Chambliss of Melbourne, Australia

Brad Chambliss (Carla) of Elizabethtown, KY

Grandchildren: Maddie and Lucy Mackenzie, Zoe Chambliss, Zac & Chloe Chambliss, Clay, Clint, Caleb & Cooper Chambliss

Funeral services will be held at Hardinsburg Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 12:00 PM (central time)

Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2026 form 3-7 PM and at Hardinsburg Baptist Church on Tuesday from 11-12 PM

Burial will be at Ivy Hill Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hardinsburg Baptist Church
