Rosa Lee Fogle McCarty, 90, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the Carmel Home in Owensboro, KY.
Rosa Lee was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy and a longtime member of St. Martin Catholic Church. She married Claude McCarty in 1958, and they enjoyed 23 wonderful years together until his death in 1981. Rosa Lee was a homemaker, loving mother, and as her children grew up, she started her career as the most talented seamstress ever to perfectly fit hundreds of brides with their dream wedding gowns.
Rosa Lee was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Uldine Payne Fogle, her husband Claude, and her great grandchildren Faith Elizabeth Hayden and Phillip Kenton Hayden.
Rosa Lee is survived by sons, Tony (Sandra) McCarty of Kimberly WI, Greg (Leah) McCarty of Owensboro, Dan (Lisa) McCarty of Utica; daughters, Maureen (Pete) Armendarez of Farragut TN, Mary (fiancé Jeff Pritchett) Colburn of Wadesville IN, Karen (Greg) Lewis of Owensboro. She was Grandmama to Stella, Mae and Eli McCarty; Brent (Holly) McCarty, Jena Beth (Bradley) Hayden; Megan (TJ) Stinnett, Matt (Brianna) McCarty; Katie Armendarez, Hannah (Alex) Collier, Marie Armendarez, Dr. Nick Armendarez; Russ (Audrey) Fulkerson, Luke (Tori) Fulkerson, Ben (Danielle) Fulkerson, Curt Fulkerson, Melissa (Jacob) Bullington; Abby Lewis, Savannah Lewis. Great Grandchildren are Grayson, Kally, Lilly, Lydia, Kolbe, Joelle, Emelia, Hayden, Cleo, Hudson, Harrison, Josie, Isabella, Ian, Charlene Rose, Rachel, Scarlett, Clark, Jack, Beau, Annie, Preston, Rosie, and Kendall. Survivors also include her dear twin sister, Dorothy Marie (Lawrence) Durbin and brother, Clyde (Mary) Fogle, sister-in-law, Ruth Ann McCarty and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at St. Martin Church, located at 5856 KY 81, Rome, KY. Visitation will be held, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, March 6, 2026, with prayers at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass at St. Martin Church. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
