Steven L. Phillips, 68, of Owensboro passed away March 5, 2026. He was born on January 18, 1958, to the late Johnny Robert and Joyce (Edmonson) Phillips.
Steven was an avid gardener who took great pride in caring for his yard and sharing the beauty he created with others. He had a creative spirit and especially loved decorating for the holidays, bringing joy and festive cheer to those around him. Steven enjoyed telling stories, taking long drives through the countryside, and spending time doing the things that made life meaningful. One of his favorite traditions was carving pumpkins each fall, a talent that earned him several awards over the years. He was also a devoted fan of Catholic High School sports, particularly football and the marching band, as well as Kentucky Wesleyan College basketball and Ford racing. Steven dedicated 35 years of his career to Champion Ford, where he valued the friendships he built and often spoke of his coworkers as his Champion family.
Along with his parents, Steven is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine (Kuegel) Phillips, and his brother, Robbie Phillips.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Brad, Beth, and Jennifer Phillips, and his brother, Vernon (Virginia) Phillips.
