Vincent C. Montgomery Jr., 77, of Owensboro, passed away March 13, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Owensboro on July 31, 1948, to the late Vincent C. Montgomery Sr. and Mary Ann “Laub” Montgomery.
Following the passing of his father, he carried on the family legacy by taking over Montgomery & Son Plumbing and Heating, where he worked as a master plumber—a responsibility he handled with dedication and pride. Vincent had a zest for life and enjoyed many simple pleasures, including golfing, dancing, and spending time with friends over Totties or a cold Miller Lite. A loyal fan of University of Kentucky basketball, he rarely missed the chance to cheer on the Wildcats. Vincent truly never met a stranger and had a natural gift for making others feel welcome. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his wife, Geatia, and found his greatest joy in being surrounded by his children, grandchildren and his great-grandchild, who brought endless happiness to his life.
Along with his parents, Vincent was preceded in death by his stepson, Randy O’Bryan.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Geatia; his children, Mandi (Keith) Wells of Bowling Green, Vincent C. (Sarah) Montgomery III of Lexington, and Melissa (James Webb) Montgomery of Owensboro; his stepchildren, Jeff (Wendy) O’Bryan and Betty Ann (Gary) Lane along with their families; his grandchildren, Tyler Webb and MacKenzie Montgomery; his great-grandson, Luka Webb; his sister, Janet (Mick) Baseheart; his best friend, Bruce Riney; his precious dog, Sugar; along with three nieces, Julie, Anne and Sally and several cousins.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00PM at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory.
