George W. McGee, Jr., 84, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026. George was a native of Hopkinsville and graduated from Hopkinsville High School in 1959, where he was a football and track standout. He earned a track scholarship to Oklahoma Baptist College in Shawnee, OK. George was a Kentucky Colonel and had been a member of the Jaycees, in addition to having worked at Planters Bank and the Kentucky New Era.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George, Sr. and Mary McGee.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda; sons, Roy (Tim) and Scott; and brother, John Gerry McGee.
In keeping his wishes, George will be cremated and then interred in the family plot at Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville.
