Barry Dale Morris, 64, of Whitesville was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on March 24, 2026. Born January 29, 1962 to John “Stub” Morris and Mary “Hootie” Morris in Philpot, KY. As a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Woods, Barry will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a man who found joy in life’s simple but meaningful moments.
Affectionately known as “Moose”, Barry had a deep love for UK Basketball, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his team. He also had a passion for music, which had been passed down from his mama, he enjoyed capturing special moments through photographs, and took great pride in his yard work. Barry enjoyed 26 years with his work family of TMMI in Princeton, IN. Above all, Barry cherished the time he spent with his family, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, John “Stub” Morris, his in-laws, William “Buster” and Lucille Brant, and nephews Corbin Mills, Shane Booker, and Wesley Duke.
Barry is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Yvonne Morris; their children, Melissa (Jimmy) Aguilar of Philpot, Melanie (Chris) Chaffin of Owensboro, Preston (Cordie) Morris of Utica, and Megan Morris (Logan Norris) of Owensboro. He was a proud grandfather to Aleeyah Aguilar, Madison Aguilar, Mary-Kate Aguilar, Rayleigh Chaffin, Macie Aguilar, Seaten Chaffin, Miley Aguilar, Kamden Aguilar, Peyton Chaffin, Tanner Morris, and Benni Norris. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Kaesyn Aguilar, Eleia Wade, Winsleigh Aguilar, and Autumn Wade. His mother Mary “Hootie” Morris. His siblings Connie (Frank) Hagan, Eddie (Pam) Morris, Marilyn (David) Fulkerson, Janetta (Steve) Booker, Freddie (Mony) Morris, Dana (Darrell) Roby, David (Monica) Morris, Kristi (Jeff) Kellogg, Jill (Nathan) Mills, along with his in-laws Donna (Vic) Wiles, Judy (Kenny) Smeathers, Peggy (Jamie) Clark, Jerry (Rhonda) Brant, and Janice (Lon) Clark. As well as 44 nieces and nephews, 80 great nieces and nephews, and 8 great great nieces and nephews.
Barry’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and the importance of family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
A Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville, KY, with burial following at St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with prayers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, KY.
