Our hearts are broken as we share the passing of Christopher Gage Ray, 30, on Friday, April 3, 2026. He was born on January 16, 1996 to Chris Turner and Jenni Ray. He loved motorcycles, working on and fixing cars, burnouts, anything with wheels, and most of all his Babygirl.
At his core, he was a young man with a big heart and a deep love for his family and friends.
Though mental struggles changed parts of his life, it never defined who he truly was. It did not erase his kindness, his love, or the memories he gave to those who were blessed to know him.
We choose to remember Gage for the goodness in him and the person he was beyond the struggle.
He leaves behind a family who loved him endlessly and will carry his name forward with both grief and pride.
May his story be a reminder that mental struggles and mental illness are REAL, often silent, and deeply cruel. And those who battle it deserve compassion, dignity, and to be remembered for their hearts..not their hardships.
Survivors include his daughter, Aleigha Ray; mother, Jenni Ray; father, Chris Turner; brothers, Liam Bratcher and Layton Turner; sisters, Michaela Massie (Robert), Georgia Bratcher, Jenna Bratcher, Jasmine Beard, and Abbigayle Beard; and grandparents, Mike and Donna Ray, and Sharon Roberts; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow the service at Woodwards Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Gage will always be loved, and he will never be forgotten.
