Katherine Earline Witherspoon, 81, of Owensboro, passed away on April 7, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in Owensboro on April 9, 1944, to the late Earl and Bessie Spence Crabtree.
Katherine was a member of Macedonia Church and enjoyed crocheting.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Pike, and her brother, Harold Crabtree.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years, Wayne Witherspoon; her sons, Tim Mullen and David Witherspoon; her grandchildren, Jessica Dant, Adam Witherspoon, Matt Witherspoon, Kurt Witherspoon, and Amber Mullen; and her great-grandchildren, Reed Dant, Hudson Witherspoon, Beau Witherspoon, Beck Witherspoon, and Archer Witherspoon.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.
