Richard “Tice” Mathias Miller, Sr., age 80 of Hardinsburg, KY, passed away April 9, 2026, at The Heartford House. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on November 19, 1945, son of the late Earl Hager Miller, Sr. and Mary Reba Taul Miller. Tice was a longtime employee and retiree of Veolia and member of Garfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a very kind man who loved The Lord, his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball and basketball. He was a wonderful cook, who smoked the best meat and made delicious desserts.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Alice Miller and siblings Hager Miller, Jr., Vennie Taul, Arthur Miller, Max Miller, Chuck Miller, Bill Miller, Bud Miller and Amelia Hubble.
Tice is survived by 2 children: Mathias Miller (Kim) and Christina Miller (Kenny Renaker) of Hardinsburg, KY
5 grandchildren: Jarrod, Josh, Jason, Autumn and Spring
9 great grandchildren: Brycen, J T, Jakob, Jaxon, Lora, Daisy, Piper, Rose and Aria
2 sisters: Barbara Squires of Erlanger, KY and Lynn Dowell of LaPorte, IN

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 11 AM with burial in the McQuady Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, 3:30 – 8 PM and Tuesday after 8:30 AM.
