Raymond E. Smith Jr., 62, of Henderson, Ky, passed away on April 20, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Owensboro on August 15, 1963, to the late Sharon Rose Graham.
His grandchildren were the light of his life. Known to them as “Piggy Pappaw,” nothing brought him more pride or joy than the time he spent with them. He was a proud patriot and a supporter of President Donald Trump, holding strong beliefs and never hesitating to stand by them. He had a true passion for building and customizing. He also found great enjoyment in caring for plants, sharing his appreciation for growing and nurturing things. He enjoyed traveling, studying American history, and collecting coins, always appreciating the stories behind them. A firearm enthusiast, he believed in being prepared and took a deep interest in self-sufficiency and planning ahead.
Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Smith “Lizzie.”
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Katelin Craddock (Mitchell); his grandchildren, Brayden, Lillyan, Lyrik, and Beckham; siblings, Penny Branstetter, Scott (Cherish) Smith, Selina (Omid) Maleki, and Lawanna (Rita) Brand; his partner; Kimberly Allen. As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory.
