Gloria Ann (Foreman) Smedley, 80, of Owensboro, died May 3, 2026 at the Heartford House. She was born in Owensboro on October 19, 1945 to the late Harl Foreman Sr. and Vivian VanWinkle Foreman. Gloria was a retired teacher with the Owensboro Public School System, having taught at Estes and Foust Elementary and Owensboro Middle School. She was a graduate of Owensboro High School and Western Kentucky University.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Smedley of Owensboro; daughter, Ann Marie Dotson (Duane) of Bowling Green; son, Chris Smedley (Melissa) of Georgetown; five granddaughters, Katie Meredith, Ella Smedley, Sarah Smedley, Samantha Smedley, and Faith Smedley; two step-grandsons; two brothers, Harl Foreman, Jr. (Marian) of Naples, FL and Van Foreman (Karla Miller) Arkansaw, Wisconsin; sister, Marilyn Kennedy (Dean) of Louisville; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Ennichement will be in Rosehill Cemetery at a later date.
