Catherine “Cathy” Ray, 65, of Owensboro, KY, passed away on May 7, 2026. She was born on October 10, 1960, to Mary Theresa Ray and the late Rommie Lee Ray Sr.
Cathy’s greatest love was her family. She enjoyed swimming, especially in her new pool, soaking up the sunshine, and relaxing outdoors. A dedicated and compassionate nurse, Cathy was excellent at her job and took great pride in caring for others. Cathy was also a long time member of St. Stephen Catholic Church
In addition to her father, Cathy is preceded in death by her significant other, Brice Wilkerson and her brother and best friend Lee Ray Jr.
Those left to cherish Cathy’s memory include her children, Zachary (Jennifer) Ray, Matthew Ray, and Jacob (Olivia) Wilkerson; along with her beloved dog, Oliver, who was her baby and held a special place in her heart; Grandchildren, Haley (Chase) Thomas, Taylor Ray, Ava Marie Ray, Dean Ray, and her unborn grandchild, Becier; great-great grandchildren, Alani, June, and Miley; brother Richard (Debbie) Ray; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with Father John Thomas presiding. Visitation will be at 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home with prayers being said at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume again on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
