Tanya Kaye Moodie, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, at Chautauqua Nursing Home in Owensboro, Kentucky. Tanya was born on October 27, 1942 in Marion, Kentucky. She was the daughter of William and Evelyn Beshears, who preceded her in death, along with her brother William “Billy” Beshears.
Tanya had a love for all things fashionable and sparkly. She enjoyed reading, shopping, buying gifts for others, dressing up, traveling and Broadway musicals. Always keeping up with the latest beauty and fashion trends, she insisted on looking her best, especially when it came to her hair and makeup. Tanya had a true zest for life, coupled with sass and a strong will.
In her later years, Tanya remained fiercely independent and never hesitated to speak her mind. Along the way, she formed special friendships with several caregivers who brought companionship and joy to her days. Tanya was especially grateful for the support and love shown to her by Faithful Friends Kentucky, a nursing home non-profit that connects volunteers with nursing home residents www.ffky.org. She also shared a close bond with Todd and Marla Carter and their children, Ryce and Riley, often telling others they were her adopted family.
Tanya will be returned to Marion, Kentucky, where she will be laid to rest beside her parents and brother in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. No public services are planned.
