Ronald “Ron” Kirk Salmon, 84, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born August 24, 1941 in Daviess County to the late Tommye “T.T.” and Mary Bell Yeiser Salmon. Ron retired from Atmos after 38 years as a construction foreman. He was a lifelong member of Red Hill Baptist Church and a deacon for 60+ years. Ron enjoyed Soap Box Derby, UK basketball, NASCAR, and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Salmon and Thomas “Tink” Salmon.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris Tanner Salmon; son, Dale Salmon (Lisa); daughter, Lee Ann Kellems (Wade); three grandchildren, Melissa Singh (Harpreet), Rodney Kellems (Courtney), and Hannah Salmon; three great-grandchildren, Aslyn Singh, Aveera Singh, and Truman Kellems; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Utica, KY. Visitation is from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
