Donnie Lee ‘Don’ Sanders passed away at 7:20 AM on May 21, 2026. He was born in Orleans, IN to Earl and Mary Sanders on May 3, 1934.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Bishop Hale Sanders of Owensboro, KY; a son, Mark Robert Sanders of Muncie, IN; a daughter, Lea Ann Sanders Wyman (Allen Boles) of Palm Springs, FL; a son, Dennie Hale (Bonnie Carman Hale) of Falls of Rough, KY; a son, Donnie Hale of Hardinsburg, KY; a daughter, Dianna Hale Roark (Denny Criss) of Hawesville, KY; a sister, Sharon Sanders Bell of Carthage, IN; a brother, Darrell Sanders (Carol Sanders) of Coos Bay, OR; 7 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives. He was beloved to all of them.
He is predeceased by his parents and a former wife, Sarah Hart Sanders and a daughter-in-law, Janice Butler Hale.
He served a four year stint in the Air Force and another four years in the reserves. He retired from AT & T (formerly Indiana Bell) and enjoyed gardening, woodworking and fishing.
There will be no funeral services (at his wishes), but a celebration of life service at a later date.
