William Wood Baker

Bill Baker 64, of Livermore, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at his home. William Wood Baker was born November 14, 1961 in Clarksville, Tennessee to the late Robert Louis and Carol Burke Robertson Baker, was married to the former Shellie Darlene Free in June of 1990, and was better known as ‘Bill’ to both his family and friends.

Bill grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky, where he formed lifelong friendships and fond memories. During his youth, Bill was a familiar face at Snyder School Playground, spending countless summer days playing baseball with friends and teammates. Those summers helped shape his love of sports, competition, and camaraderie that remained with him throughout his life.

Bill was a graduate of Apollo High School and later earned his degree from Western Kentucky University. He was known for his quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and ability to make others laugh. Whether sharing a joke, telling a story, or offering a clever remark, Bill brought joy to those around him.

Among his greatest passions were golf and fishing. He could often be found on a golf course enjoying a round with friends or by the water with a fishing pole in hand. More than anything, Bill treasured the time he spent with his family. He was especially devoted to his grandchildren and loved taking them golfing and fishing, creating memories they will carry with them forever.

Bill will be remembered for his humor, his love of golf and fishing, his loyalty to family and friends, and the pride he took in being a husband, father, and grandfather. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the laughter he shared will remain in the hearts of all who know and loved him.

Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Shellie Baker; a daughter, Kelly Baker (Nicholas Slaughters) of Tell City, Indiana; two beloved grandsons, Jake and Connor; three brothers, Pat Baker (Cathy) of Henderson, Mike Baker (Cora) of Elizabethtown, and Rob Baker (Gaby) of Potomac, Maryland; and a sister, Camille Weber (Don) of Louisville.

Friends may visit with Bill’s family from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 26, 2026 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.

Bill’s family asks that those who knew Bill honor his memory by spending time with loved ones, casting a fishing line, playing a round of golf, or sharing a laugh in his remembrance.
