
Steve Ling, 73, of Daviess County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on June 30, 1952, Steve spent his life working hard to provide for those he loved. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a friend to many.
Steve loved going camping with his friends. He loved going on trips with his sister and brothers-in-law; riding his bike and motorcycle, playing his guitar and having cookouts and barbeques. He especially loved having his kids and grandkids around.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Leo Ling; his mother, Cecelia Lafern Ling; father-in-law, Aubrey L. Mayfield; mother-in-law, Virginia Mayfield; brothers, Tony Ling and David Ling; sisters-in-law, Barbara Ling and Nadine Higdon; brothers-in-law Norman Mayfield, Bobby Allen and Darrell Crabtree.
Survived by his wife of 49 years, Pat Ling; sons, Jason (Jennifer) Hamilton, Quenton (Leslie) Ling, Jared (Amanda) Ling, Haley Ling (Jake); grandchildren, Reghan (Josh), Mason (Ashlynn), Eve, Laka, Keeli (Logan), Hayden, Peyton, Reagan, Paige, Sam, Oliver, Evelynn, Harrison and Johnny and great grandchildren, Norah and Violet.
Steve is also survived by his family, Billy, Patty (Kenny), Joe, Ronnie (Jana), Bobby (Patty), Danny (Lisa) and Sharon Russell., sisters and brothers-in-law, Dian (Garry), Carl, Darell (Dara), Martha, Carmie (Jim), Doris (Darrell) and lots of nieces and nephews.
Steve will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of music, his adventurous spirit and the way he brought people together. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories he created and the love he so freely shared.
A graveside service to honor Steve’s life will be on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family and celebrate Steve’s life afterward at the home of Jerry and Vicky Morris
