Crystal "Amee" Payne

Crystal “Amee” Payne, 41, of Owensboro, passed away June 17, 2026. She was born December 25, 1984, in Owensboro. Amee had a bubbly personality, was a great cook, and seemed to always make more than enough for everyone. She had a deep desire to help others and took great joy in seeing people succeed.

Serving and encouraging those around her was not only a source of happiness, but also part of her own journey of healing and growth.

Amee was a graduate of Western Kentucky University, earning her master’s degree in organizational leadership. She worked in the FAFSA office at OCTC for many years and then moved to the Career Center where she was their Workshop Facilitator. Amee was strong, loving, and a great mother to her two girls. She was a fierce sister and loved her family and friends deeply.

Amee was preceded in death by her grandmother, Kathleen “Nanny” Phillips and father-in-law, Allen Payne.

She is survived by her husband, Doug Payne; daughters, Azriel Payne and Abigayle Payne; parents, Patrick Dion and Crystal Darlene Meserve; sister, Ariel Meserve; brother, Mason Meserve; grandparents, Patrick and Rosemary Meserve; mother-in-law, Becky Payne; sister-in-law, Cathy (Charles) McCarthy and brother-in-law, David Payne.

The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Williams Catholic Church in Knottsville. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with prayers beginning at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be at St. Williams Catholic Church Cemetery.
