Rickey Tanner 73, of the Lemon Community in McLean County, Kentucky passed away Friday, June 19, 2026 at his home. Rickey Dean Tanner was born September 1, 1952 in Calhoun, Kentucky to the late Thomas Estil and Jennie Lee King Tanner, and was married to the former Peggy Joyce Sallee on March 11, 1972.
Rickey was currently working at the McLean County Transfer Station, earlier retired from the McLean County Road Department, and was a member of Jireh – the church of Jesus Christ in Calhoun. He enjoyed NASCAR, old classic cars, camping, time spent on the Green River, and spending time with both his family and friends.
Rickey is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Tanner; a son, Bradley Tanner (Julie) of Calhoun; a bonus son, Scott Sallee (Sandy) of Beech Grove; a daughter, Ginger Bragg (Robbie) of Island; six grandchildren, Nathan Pryor (Candice), Stevie Lee Hill (Trenton), Sadie Tanner, Gunner Bragg, Ryan Sallee (Savannah), and Rorik Duvall; four great-grandchildren, Brinlee Pryor, Harper Pryor, Kutler Hill, and Halo Hill; a brother, Barry Tanner of Union, Kentucky; and a sister, Penny Sallee of Calhoun.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 21, 2026 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Rickey’s family from 11:30 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Musters in Calhoun.
