Mrs. Ruth Ann Elliott, age 81 of Hudson, KY passed peacefully, June 21, 2026, with her loving family at her side. Ruth Ann was born February 21, 1945, to Wavie and Mildred Dodson Allen. She was their only daughter, born third in line with four brothers.

Ruth Ann met the love of her life at the tender age of 13. When she looked into the blue eyes of Gerald Elliott, her heart was his forever. The couple married on September 24, 1960. They had a wonderful marriage of 64 years. Gerald went to his Heavenly home December 7, 2024. To this union was born two daughters Regina and Thereasa.

Gerald and Ruth Ann worked side by side on their farm at Hudson. They had a successful farm gate and equipment business as well as Pastoring and spreading God’s word for 25 plus years. “Sister Ruth Ann” loved her role in the church. She enjoyed cooking for church gatherings and beamed when asked for a recipe.

Ruth Ann was the epitome of a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and canning. Her family was her pride and joy.

Ruth Ann was a true Christian praying Mother. She raised her girls in church. Everyday being the example of a woman walking by Gods guidance and grace. In addition to her loving husband Gerald, she is preceded in death by her parents, Wavie and Mildred Allen; an infant brother Dewayne; older brother Ralph and his wife Ruby; mother and father-in-law Sidney and Sylvia Dennis Elliott; sister-in-law Joyce Elliott Barnes, her husband Virgil and their children Sharron Barnes Alvey and Terry Barnes and grandson-in-law Lee Johnson, Jr.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter Thereasa and her husband Kerry Proffitt of McDaniels, KY. She thought of Kerry as her son. Granddaughter Heather Proffitt Johnson and great granddaughter Mahalya Johnson (Christian Dennis) of Richmond, KY. Her oldest daughter Regina DeCaro of LaGrange, KY and her sons Joshua Aldridge and Michael Aldridge of Owensboro, KY; brothers Jerry Allen (Pam) of Louisville, KY and Luther Allen (Pam) of Louisville, KY and their families.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11 AM with burial in the Hudson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, 4-8 PM and Saturday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
