Freddie Walton Geary Sr.

CENTRAL CITY – Freddie Walton Geary, Sr., 81, of Central City, died Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro. Mr. Geary was born in Muhlenberg County on November 13, 1944. We would like to remember and honor Freddie Walton Geary, Sr., a man who lived a life filled with hard work, love, and the simple pleasures that brought him joy.

Freddie was a simple man who found happiness in simple things. Early in life, he was a hardworking logger who, along with his brothers, built a company through dedication and determination. He was also an entrepreneur with a spirit for life and a drive to make things happen.

He knew how to enjoy the world around him. He loved catfish fishing in the river with a trout line, raising cows and horses, spending time outdoors. Later in life, he found joy in everyday moments – mowing the grass, gardening, and planting fruit trees and bushes. He had a way of turning ordinary days into something meaningful.

If you came to visit Freddie there was a good chance you’d get a ride around the yard on his side-by-side. It was one of the ways he shared his world with the people he cared about. He loved showing others what he had built and what brought him happiness.

Freddie loved life and fought hard to live it. He loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren deeply. His love showed in the time he spent with them and the life he worked so hard to provide.

Freddie leaves behind memories of a man who valued family, hard work, the outdoors, and the beauty of a simple life. He will be remembered for the way he lived, the things he loved, and the people he loved most. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gelita Ashby, Bobby Geary, and Bobby Dale Geary.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Geary; son, Freddie (Melissa) Geary, Jr.; grandchild, Chase (Leslie) Geary; great-grandchild, Lainey Geary; siblings, Edward Geary, Billy Geary, and Kaye (Steve) Flener; and several nieces and nephews.
