Sandra Gail Scott Allen, age 82 of Sample, KY, passed away June 26, 2026, at Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Hopkins County, KY, on September 11, 1943, daughter of the late Shelly and Sarah Eva Atchley Scott. Sandra was a member of Sample Global Methodist Church and retired from Galante Studio after many years of employment.
She loved the outdoors – mowing her yard, camping, working in her flower beds, watching hummingbirds and driving her ATV around her property. She enjoyed sewing and made beautiful quilts.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Buddy Allen, daughter Monica, granddaughter Stephanie, great granddaughter Taylor Jo and siblings James Ray, Faye, Joe, Diana and Norma Jean.
Sandra is survived by her children: Charlie Allen (Sharon) of Westview, KY; Jeffery Allen (Alicia) of Hardinsburg, KY; John Allen (Lynnette) of Union Star, KY; Lori Henning (Leonard) of Hardinsburg, KY and Lisa Lucas (Barry) of Sample, KY.
13 grandchildren: Cassie (Dusty), Chris, Megan, Ariel, Ashley, Destiny, William, Kayla, Jason (Maddie), Matthew, Ben, Molly (Thomas) and Dustin.
Several great grandchildren.
Brother and sisters: Johnny Scott (Debbie) of Cynthia, IN; Mary Helen Scott of Madisonville, KY and Brenda Fowler of Henderson, KY.
Many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11 AM with burial in the Jolly Cemetery in Sample, KY. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 4-8 PM and Wednesday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
