
Belinda Jean Melton (Hagan), 78, of Whitesville passed away June 29th, 2026. She was born February 8th, 1948. Belinda loved to dance, shop, and travel. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Belinda enjoyed spending time with her friends. You would often find her lunching with them at the Whitesville Senior Center. Belinda started with a career as a licensed cosmetologist in 1973, before changing to her true calling in 1988 as a nurse. She served as a nurse for over 30 years.
Her faith was very important to her. She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
Belinda was preceded in death by her parents Clara Marie Hagan and Joseph Daniel Hagan, and her husband, Chester Melton.
Those left to cherish her memory includes her grandchildren Amanda (Kevin) Goins and Stephen (Angela)Patton. Her great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Breanna, Callie, Beckham, Mackenzie, Leland, Natalie, and Cash. She had one son, James Patton.
Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 2nd at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, KY, with a mass at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, with Father Brian Roby presiding. She will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Daviess County Lions Club.
