Rose Mary Powell, 79, of Greenville, KY passed away on Tuesday, June 30th, 2026 at the Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. She was born in Bloomington, IL on July 6th, 1946, the daughter of the late James Robert Gaither and Alberta Brooks Gaither.
She was a member of Emberry Church and enjoyed traveling throughout the local area with a gospel group. She was formerly employed at Flynn’s Sewing Factory and was no stranger to hard work, spending many seasons cutting tobacco throughout Todd County. Although she often said she hated the work, it became something she deeply missed and fondly remembered. In her spare time, she enjoyed taking evening rides on her golf cart. She was known for her loving heart, outgoing personality, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Her warmth and compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Chuck Gaither.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6th, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY, officiated by Rev. Don Garrett. Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by two daughters, Rose Anne (Jeff) Stanley and Darlena R (Timmy Stanley) Garrett; one son, Billy N. (Kelly) Garrett; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, July 6th, 2026 at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service.
