
Herbert Wolfe 78, of the Ashbyburg community in Hopkins County, Kentucky passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville. Herbert Foster Wolfe, Sr. was born September 21, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Lawrence and Mary Katherine Corder Wolfe and was married to the former Joyce Ann Piercefield on November 25, 1991.
Herbert served as a U.S. Marine, retired as a commercial roofer and was a member of Who So Ever Will Mission in Calhoun. He enjoyed yardwork and helping others.
In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by a son, Herbert Forster Wolfe, Jr.; a brother, Stephen Wolfe; and by two sisters, Kitty Wolfe and Ida M. ‘Ige’ Wilson.
Herbert is survived by his wife of 34 years, Joyce Wolfe; two sons, Davidlee Wolfe of Ashbyburg and Joesph Wolfe of Louisville; four daughters, Sandra Quist (Danny), Angela Carter both of Bowling Green, Machelle Lee (Tinker) of Sebree, and Kenya Miller (Eric) of Henderson; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Billy Wolfe of Upton, David Neal Wolfe of North Carolina, and Ricky Wolfe of Beech Grove; and two sisters, Tana Wolfe of Calhoun and Connie Wolfe of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Who So Ever Will Mission, 763 Kentucky 81 North; Calhoun. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415. Friends may visit with Herbert’s family from 10:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Herbert’s family.
