Emily Colleen Simmons, age 71, formerly of Falls of Rough, KY, passed away July 6, 2026, in Cecilia, KY. She was born in Bloomington, IL on January 12, 1955. She retired from Rough River State Park, where she worked for over 25 years. Colleen was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. She loved the Lord and her family. She enjoyed playing card games with her grandchildren, singing to them – even while playing games – and watching Family Feud and QVC.
Colleen is preceded in death by her husband Carroll Simmons, son Alan Simmons, grandson Collin Simmons, father John Sebastian, brother John Sebastian and Bonus father Tony Hall.
She is survived by her mother Fay Hall of Hardinsburg, KY
Son – Collier Simmons and his wife Rachel of Hardinsburg, KY
Daughter – Tiffany Grace and her husband Brian of Cecilia, KY
Grandchildren – Riley, Tyler, Carter and Brady Grace of Cecilia, KY; Joannna Perry and Scarlett Simmons of Hardinsburg, KY
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that she dearly loved.
Funeral services will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 11 AM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, 4-8 PM and Wednesday at the church after 9 AM.
