George Michael “Mike” Fallin was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, teacher, and coach. Mike entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on July 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born to the late James Taylor Fallin and Irene Holder Fallin in Owensboro, Kentucky on July 18, 1950.
Mike graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Hawesville and went on to graduate from Western Kentucky University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Mike worked as a teacher, coach, principal, and assistant superintendent across a 35 year career in Hancock County Public Schools. Mike impacted generations of young people with his incomparable positivity, encouragement, and guidance.
Mike married his beloved wife, Cynthia “Cindi” Rodgers, and was devoted to her for 44 beautiful years. Also remaining to honor Mike’s cherished memory are his children; Amanda (Keisa) Fallin-Bennett, of Lexington; Jay (Allison) Fallin, of Owensboro; and Tyler (Julie Pfeiffer) Fallin of Lexington, as well as 5 grandsons; Andrew, Simon, Benjamin, Alexander, and William. In addition to his immediate family, Mike is also survived by his loving sisters; Rita (Bruce) Tongate, of Lewisport; and Sarah (Harold) Nikirk, of Lexington, his sisters-in-law Alice Fallin and Sharon Fallin, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his older brothers; Bobby Fallin and Jim Fallin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, July 10, 2026 at St. Columba Catholic Church in Lewisport with Father Terry Devine officiating. Interment will follow in Lewisport Cemetery. Mike’s family will receive friends on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 3-7 PM and Friday, July 10, 2026 from 8-9:30 AM at Gibson and Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel.
