Gene C. Johnson, 70, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, July 6, at Jenny Stuart Medical Center. Gene was born November 6, 1955, to the late Charles Jr. and Minnie Johnson.
Gene spent much of his time working as a farm hand for Marvin Stone Farms. He enjoyed the simple things in life-his coffee in the mornings, long walks and working in the garden. Gene never met a stranger and loved to cut up and joke around. If he wasn’t outside, chances were he had his sketchpad in hand and was doodling.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Mary Fitzgerald; brothers, Roy Johnson, of Owensboro, Michael Johnson, of Maceo and Charles William Johnson (Nicki), of CA; stepson, William Hamilton; aunt, Ann Berry; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Gene will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday, 10 a.m. until 1:30 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
