Jerry Neal Croxton, 79, of Central City, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Born on April 23, 1947, in Anton, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Holbart Croxton and Aline Albright Croxton.
A proud graduate of Madisonville High School (Class of 1965), Jerry was drafted into the United States Army Reserves in 1967. He served with dedication in the 100th Division, retiring in 1998 with the rank of Sergeant First Class as a Drill Sergeant.
On August 25, 1967, he married Diana Sue Minton, the love of his life. They shared nearly 59 years of marriage filled with love and cherished memories.
Jerry worked as a heavy motor apparatus repairman at various companies and retired from Hibbs Electric in 2011. He loved the outdoors and was a faithful member of Martwick Baptist Church, where he enjoyed attending services and preaching on special occasions. His strong faith was central to his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diana Croxton; son Timothy (Hope) Croxton; daughter Malinda (Bobby) Dukes; sister Wanda Wicks; grandchildren Dalton Croxton, Elise Johnson, Colton (Audra Carver) Ashby, Zoie Dukes, Landon Thurman, Nathan Thurman, and Katelyn Thurman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers Larry Croxton and Jim Croxton, his brother-in-law, David Wicks, and his infant sister, Janice Marie Croxton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24th, at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY, officiated by Bro. Ronnie Hendricks and Bro. Todd King. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville KY with military honors.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 24th at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville from 10:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
