
Rebecca was born in Greenville, KY on February 6th 1948 to Florence Dukes Cornette and Alton B. Cornette, both of whom preceded her in death. Becky left this earthly world to go to her Heavenly Father on July 24, 2026 at 8:35 am.
Rebecca’s hometown of Greenville is where she attended school all 12 years and graduated in 1966 along with her beloved husband John Haskins. Rebecca “Becky” was an active member of their class for many years helping to organize reunions and special events. Becky worked as a teen at Chumley’s jewelry shop, later selling Tupperware and Avon and then working for Wetterau as a secretary. Eventually Becky became the secretary at First Baptist Church in Greenville for many years. Becky is known for her friendliness, lovely smile, and being a friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters, Peggy Jo Richards and Sharon Anne Cornette who passed at birth, many years ago.
She is survived by two sons, John William Haskins II (Mia), Matthew Lynn Haskins (Alana) and two granddaughters, Abby Vergara and Michelle (Sherman) Haskins, one great grandchild, Andrew Thompson. One sister, Cheryl Cornette (David) Farthing, six nephews, three nieces as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 1:00 pm from Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY by Reverend Brandon Walker and assisted by Dr. Charles Midkiff with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery where she will rest beside her loving husband, John. Visitation will be held after 10:00 am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
