Gay H. Winkler Taylor, 86, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2019. Gay was born in Daviess County on November 30, 1932, to the late Juanis Horn and James Gobel Roberts. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Gay work for GE and retired after 35 years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Elvert Winkler and second husband David Taylor; brothers, Bobby Horn, Louie Horn, Eugene Horn, and Harold Horn; sisters, Maxine Kier, Betty Walker, and Linda Coleman; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Winkler.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Anna) Winkler, James (Judy) Winkler, and Carllas Winkler; grandchildren, Robert Allen Winkler (Alysha), Adam Lee Winkler (Jamie), Vicki Koller (Jason), Kalyn Ward (John), Billie Kelton (Mike), and Colton Winkler; and great-grand-children, Savannah, Logan, Madelyn, Pierston, Brooklyn, Cameron, Dillion, Lauren, and Jake.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the family of Gay Taylor c\o Jim Winkler.
The funeral will be held at12 pm on Monday, November 11, 2019, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 pm Sunday, November 10, 2019, and after 10 am Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
