Albert Melvin Pagan

June 9, 1937 - March 21, 2020

Albert Melvin Pagan of Owensboro on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at the age of 82, was called to his heavenly home by the Lord to reunite with his family, friends, and loved ones. Melvin was the firstborn of Wilfred Pagan, Sr. and Mary Ann Horn Pagan on June 9, 1937

He loved his church and church family at Yellow Creek Baptist Church having been a lifelong attendee and becoming a baptized believer in 1949. He was a Deacon Emeritus having been ordained in 1971. He served several years as a trustee, treasurer, and on the budget/finance and personnel committees as well as other standing committees and special appointed committees.

Melvin was a 1955 graduate of Daviess County High School where he was a three-sport letterman in basketball, baseball, and track, being honored in basketball with all city, all district, and all region recognition in 1954.

He coached Little League baseball for several years where he coached the East Daviess County All-Star team to its first District Championship in 1960.

Melvin retired in 1987 from his computer service bureau, Systems Resources, Inc. Following his retirement, he successfully developed Stonegate Estates and Tanglewood Park residential communities.

He leaves behind a loving family that he cherished and loved very much, his high school sweetheart and wife of 64 years, Patricia Russell Pagan, daughter, Sharon (Mark) Rickard of Owensboro, son, Mickey (Cindy) Pagan of Vincennes, Indiana, four granddaughters, Brande Hudson of Owensboro, Hannah (Ryan) Golibersuch of Lexington, Abbie (Aaron) Prater of Georgetown, and Lauren (Davis) McGregor of Hopkinsville, three great granddaughters, Molly Hudson, Allie Prater, and Audrey Prater, three great grandsons, Luke and Brooks Golibersuch, and Aaron Jacob (A.J.) Prater, a sister, Artie (Ron) Whitaker of Wilmington, N.C., a brother, Wilfred, Jr. (Sharon) Pagan of Owensboro, and a special uncle he loved as a brother, Shirley (Buck) Pagan of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.

In compliance with health and public safety directives, the funeral arrangements for Mr. Pagan will be private. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

A Public Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a future date at Yellow Creek Baptist Church.
