Jack Purcell

Jack Purcell, 66, of Whitesville passed Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born in Owensboro, a son of the late Loren Julian Purcell and Ozetta Morris Purcell, he was a graduate of Owensboro High School, attended Western Kentucky University, and was a veteran of the United State Army. Jack loved his family, with a special feeling for his grandchildren. He was a sign maker, owning Brilliant Signs, Copies, and Printing for 29 years. He valued the long-time friendships he made with his customers over the course of his career and the role he played in helping them succeed. A lover of all animals, Jack’s dogs and cats were special to him. He was a member of Owensboro Christian Church. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Purcell, and his sister Linda White.

Those remaining to honor his memory include his children Clint Purcell (Michelle) of Lexington, Daniel Purcell and Virgil Purcell, both of Bloomington, IL, and Genevieve Purcell of Whitesville; his grandchildren Wyatt Purcell and Morgan Purcell; his brothers and sisters Janet Purcell (Bob Conder) of Owensboro, Marilyn Sumner (Ed) of Owensboro, Gary Purcell (Liz) of Clarksville, TN, and Pam Knight (Mike) of Owensboro; his sister-in-law Paula Purcell of Greenwood, IN; and his brother-in-law James White (Evelyn) of Peru, IN.

The funeral service for Jack Purcell was Saturday, June 6, 2020 at South Hampton Baptist Church, followed by burial in the church cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Owensboro Christian Church.
