Maloria Fuqua Casey

December 28, 1926 - August 8, 2018

Maloria Fuqua Casey, 91, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, passed away August 08, 2018 in Owensboro under the care of Owensboro Regional Hospital. She was born in Fordsville, Kentucky on December 28, 1926 to the late Hettie Thurman Petty and Oscar Petty. Maloria was a retired long time teacher and librarian for the Ohio County School System. She had her Master’s Degree in Education. Moloria enjoyed gardening, reading, shopping, spending time at home with her family and taking trips with them to the Smokey Mountains. She attended the Abundant Life Church in Beaver Dam, and was a member of the former Washington United Methodist Church in Hartford.
She is predeceased by her first husband, G. E. Fuqua Jr., and second husband Osco Casey, her sisters Alpha Trogden and Jessie Myers as well as two brothers, Arnold Petty and Thurman Petty.
Maloria is survived by her long time adopted family, Dennis, Christina, Luke and Lance Shephard, of Beaver Dam, Jessica (Tyler) Deweese of Horsebranch. She is also survived by her Nieces, Katrina (Richard) Frailley of Hartford, Wilda Puckett of Hartford, Shirley (Ronnie) Bass of Beaver Dam, Debra (Kevin) Samples of Brownsburg, IN, and Nephews, James (Donna) Trogden, Curtis Trogden, and Earl Trogden all of Hartford. She also leaves behind several Great Nieces and Great Nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home with Brother Keith Shephard officiating, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Funeral Home and resume at 10:00 am on Saturday until time of service.
