Shirley Lynn Nall

July 8, 1934 - November 17, 2020

Shirley Lynn Nall, 86, passed away November 17, 2020, at her home in Owensboro, KY, surrounded by her family and a friend. She was born in Union County July 8, 1934 to Jimmy John and Edna V. Lynn.

As a teenager, Shirley grew up in Webster County and was an active teenager in 4-H, winning many awards including a state championship award to the National 4-H Conference in Chicago. She was active in show horse competitions, winning many awards, her biggest being the Webster County Fair first placed in 5-gated on her horse, Michael Boy.

A lifetime alumni member of University of Kentucky and of Western Kentucky University, she had degrees from both colleges and served as a county extension agent for Ohio State University and the University of Kentucky in Madison County, London, Ohio, Jefferson County, Henderson County, and Daviess County.

During her lifetime she purchased and renovated several properties in the Owensboro area and maintained rental properties.

Her most precious achievement in life were her two beautiful daughters, Robin and Hollyanna.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters, Florence Moony and Mary Louise Porter; her brother, Dr. Henry R. Lynn; and her youngest daughter, Hollyanna Popeck.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Bob Shelton; her grandchildren, Kyle J. Shelton, Shelby Murphy and her husband, Jake, Meredith Popeck, and Mallory Popeck; and one great grandchild, Bobbie Rose Murphy.

A celebration of her life will be held at her beloved home, Saturday, November 21, at 1pm. Please wear your blue and white in honor of Shirley Pop’s love for the Kentucky Wildcats.
