Jeanne Wood, 82, of Owensboro, went to with her Lord, on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born November 5, 1938 in Nottingham, England to the late Jenny Heaton Barker and Thomas Hollingworth. Jeanne was a member of the Owensboro Gospel Kingdom Church and retired after 32 years as a caregiver with the Dixon State School in Dixon, Illinois. She moved to the United States in 1966 and to Owensboro in 1998. Jeanne loved the Gospel Kingdom Campground where she had been a volunteer worker. She enjoyed watching game shows, crocheting blankets for family and friends, and especially loved spending time with them all. Jeanne was loved by many.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Bertie Wood. She is survived by her children, Tammie Lynne Chamness of Alexandria, Virginia, Michael (Sherri) Wood of Princeton, Indiana, Daniel (Brenda) Wood of Montfort, Wisc., David Wood of Platteville, Wisc., and Mark (Marti) Wood of Tampico, Illinois, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a lifelong friend of 54 years, Marcie Setzer of Owensboro.
Memorial services for Jeanne will be held at Gospel Kingdom Church sometime in the Spring. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
