Shonda Star-Janetta Barnes Rodriguez, 37, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Wuresburg, Germany.
Shonda was a graduate of Owensboro High and had worked as a C.N.A. at the Wendell Foster Center and nursing homes. She had also worked as a server at local restaurants. Shonda enjoyed crafting, scrap booking and spending time with friends, but her main focus was being a mother to her four children.
She is survived by her husband of twelve years, Eder Rodriguez; children, Tatijana Crowe, Jesse Walker Barnes, Reese Rodriguez and Araseli Rodriguez; mother, Lois Barnes of Owensboro; father, Wayne Barnes of Norman, Oklahoma; siblings, Erik Clark of Henderson, KY, Dewayana Barnes of Louisville,KY and her twin sister, Shelevia Barnes of Owensboro.
Public visitation will be 10:00 until 11:30 AM Thursday, January 14 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be a funeral service with limited attendance. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
The number of those attending the visitation or funeral service for Mrs. Rodriguez shall be within current health and safety directives. Family and friends shall wear appropriate personal protective masks and enter the doors near the flagpole on the Breckenridge Street side of the building.
