Margaret Sue "Peggy" Porter

March 14, 1943 - September 8, 2018

Margaret Sue “Peggy” Porter, 75, of Owensboro, passed away on Sat. Sept. 8, 2018, at the home of her sister, Ruth Ann McCarty. Peggy was born March 14, 1943, in Daviess County to the late Urey Fogle and Mary Grace Simon Fogle. Peggy graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School, married Woody in 1964 and was a loving wife and mother. Most recently she was a devoted grandmother and enjoyed playing cards and Bunco with several community groups.

She was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church.

She also was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jesse Woodrow Porter, Jr. in 2017; five sisters, Rita Wathen, Rose Senn, Jean Coomes, Mary Bosch, and Betty DeLacey.

She is survived by three sons, Martin (Renee) Porter of Cookville, TN, Ross (Kathy) Porter of Louisville, and Matthew (Heather) Porter of Owensboro; three daughters, Tammy (James) Fantz of Springfield, VA, Janice (Martin) Lanham of Friendswood, TX, and Jessica (John) Ratliff of Calhoun; 17 grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Fogle and Bill Fogle; three sisters, Edna Jones, Ruth Ann McCarty and Sharon Fogle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Catholic Church. Burial will be held at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
