Clarice Jean Askins, 89, of Owensboro, passed away September 10, 2018, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Ohio County on June 14, 1922, to the late Ivan L. Patton and Opal Chinn Patton. Clarice was a homemaker and she loved to read.
Along with her parents, Clarice was preceded in death by her husband, George Askins, who passed away September 4, 2010, and her sister Margaret Pinkston.
Clarice is survived by her children: Allan (Dot) Askins, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Dale Askins and Kris Peters, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Lonnie (Nancy) Patton, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Brenda Reagan, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Mary (David) Millay, of Owensboro, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Annie Norris, of Missouri.
Services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Entombment will follow at Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
