Maurice Wink

August 2, 1934 - April 30, 2021

Maurice Wink, 86, of Masonville died Friday, April 30, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. The Daviess County native was born August 2, 1934 to the late Simon and Thelma Wink. Maurice was a well-known area farmer and avid reader who also loved history, especially Civil War and Daviess County history. He and his wife were members of the Friendship Force and traveled all over the world representing Owensboro. Maurice enjoyed collecting old farm equipment and Indian artifacts and especially family gatherings.

In addition to his parents, Maurice also was preceded in death by four of his seven siblings, Mary Elizabeth House, Simon Wink Jr., Juanita Kaelin, and Shirley Zoglman.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Shirley Blandford Wink; two sons, Stephen Wink and Brian (Susen) Wink; four daughters, Karen (Robert) Morris, Donna (Michael) Mitchell, Mary Beth (Darrell) Hamilton, and Susan Wink; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Geraldine Howard, Thelma (James) Cecil), and Yvonne Simmons; special dog, Ollie; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 until 6:00 pm with prayers at 5:30 pm and Tuesday from 9:00 until 9:30 am at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. The funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Brown’s Valley. Those attending the visitation and funeral Mass shall be within current health and safety directives. For visitation on Monday, please enter the doors on the Triplett Street side of the building.
