Wanda Jean Powers, 87, of Owensboro, died on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 9, 1930 in Earlington, KY to the late Harvey William Brown and Leotia O’Dell Case Brown. She was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church since 1959. Wanda retired from Fifth Third Bank (previously Cumberland Bank) after 23 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years in April 2012, Edward H. Powers; her sisters, Delores Smith and Jewell Dean Brown; and one brother, Harvey William Brown Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam (Rick) Isaacs and Theresa (Bruce) Elliott, both of Owensboro and Belinda (Dave) Smith of Santa Claus, IN; her sons, Tony (Donna) Powers, Ron (Beverly) Powers and David Powers, of Owensboro; one sister, Mary Benthall and a brother, Richard Neal Brown, both of Evansville, IN; sisters-in-law, Marie (John) Clark of Murray, KY and Dorothy Powers of Owensboro; brother-in-law, George (Barbara) Powers of Bowling Green, KY; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be at noon on Monday at Parish of the Immaculate with Father Mike Clark (Wanda’s nephew) officiating and Father John Vaughn, pastor, con-celebrating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 to noon on Monday at Parish of the Immaculate. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
