Mary Louise Bowlds, 94, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Morganfield Nursing and Rehab. Mrs. Bowlds was born July 13, 1924 in Daviess County to the late William Allen Feaster and China Mary “Mayme” O’Bryan Feaster. Louise attended St. Francis Academy and was employed at Mercy Hospital then Owensboro Daviess County Hospital as a floor clerk. She was a private person who enjoyed art and was a ruthless card player. Later, after her husband became ill, she became his caretaker.
Mrs. Bowlds was also preceded in death by her husband, James P. “Red” Bowlds; sister, Virginia Osborne; brothers, George Feaster and Tony Montgomery.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Venn and husband Robert of Kenosha, Wisconsin; sisters, Margaret Richeson and husband Randal and Kathryn Bolen and husband Sherman; brother, Carl Montgomery and wife Barbara; two grandsons and eight great granddaughters; many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, September 19 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:00 am at the church. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to St. Pius X Building Fund or the Carmel Home.
